[SK Hynix and South Korean Union Hold Negotiations on Bonus Issues] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on August 4, SK Hynix and representatives of its South Korean union held the fifth round of bonus negotiations at the SK Hynix factory in Cheongju. The two sides remain divided over the generous bonus proposal. Last year, SK Hynix agreed to allocate 10% of its annual operating profit to employees. According to calculations by Reuters, this means that in 2026, each employee could receive an average bonus of 779 million Korean won (approximately $547,127). In a notice to its members, the union stated that management proposed paying more than half of the bonuses in the form of stocks and restricting their sale for a certain period. The notice also revealed that the company hopes to adjust bonus payments in the event of losses. The union, however, declared that it would never accept any arrangement that exposes union members to the risks of stock price fluctuations. (Jinshi)
