[China Academy of Information and Communications Technology: China's AI Industry Scale to Exceed 1.2 Trillion Yuan by 2025] The China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) continues to conduct research on the artificial intelligence (AI) industry and has carried out projections for the scale of the AI industry in 2025. According to estimates, the scale of China's AI industry will exceed 1.2 trillion yuan in 2025, representing a year-on-year growth of 40%. By June 2026, the number of AI enterprises will exceed 6,600, accounting for 15% of the global total, forming a complete industrial system covering foundational infrastructure, model frameworks, and industry applications. The AI industry chain is divided into three layers: the foundational layer, the model framework layer, and the application layer. In 2025, the scale of China's AI foundational layer industry is projected to grow by 59% year-on-year, accounting for 38% of the total; the AI model framework layer is expected to grow by 189% year-on-year, accounting for 7%; and the AI application layer is projected to grow by 22% year-on-year, accounting for 55%.
