The market's rough, so they're hustling on-chain! A hacker's address received a small transfer with an OP_RETURN message attached: 'I clean BTC, do KYC and cashout. I take 10%.'
The crypto market is stuck in a choppy, grinding phase. It's not just secondary traders feeling the pain—even the on-chain 'underground economy' is facing competitive pressure. A wallet address suspected to belong to a COLDCARD-related attacker/hacker (bc1q976...) received a tiny Bitcoin transfer with an OP_RETURN message attached.
The on-chain 'ad' was brutally straightforward: I clean BTC, do KYC and cashout. I take 10%... ('I can launder BTC, handle KYC, and cash out, taking a 10% cut...').
'Bear market hustling': With the market cooling off and trading volumes dropping, even money-laundering intermediaries have had to shift from 'waiting for clients' to 'actively soliciting business.' The blockchain has basically turned into a cyber version of a telephone pole covered in flyers.
'Black-on-black supply chain': Hackers sitting on stolen funds now have to watch out for phishing schemes from on-chain advertisers. The dark side of the crypto world is full of its own brand of dark humor.
