[Coldcard Security Incident Triggers On-Chain Fund Migration, Bitcoin Small Transfers Reach Highest Level Since FTX Collapse] Deep Tide TechFlow reports that on August 2, amid the ongoing fallout from a suspected hacker attack on Coldcard wallets, Bitcoin small transfer activity surged significantly, reaching its highest level since the collapse of the FTX exchange. The market has once again sparked discussions about the security of Bitcoin self-custody. CryptoQuant's Head of Research, Julio Moreno, disclosed data showing that the number of Bitcoin transfers under 1 BTC circulating on-chain has risen to its highest level since November 2022. Approximately 39,600 BTC were transferred in a single day, just 300 BTC short of the record set on November 16, 2022, days after FTX filed for bankruptcy. He believes that users proactively taking action to mitigate risks is a positive signal. Additionally, Bloomberg ETF Senior Analyst Eric Balchunas suggested that Bitcoin ETFs, with their mature regulatory framework and convenience, could offer some users a safer investment option.
