Unfortunately this is not true. H100s are near the same rental prices as 3 years ago. A100s despite being out for 6 years are still being rented. People cannot grapple with exponential growth. Previously much of compute was consumed by training. What happens when inference growth starts expanding? The demand side is voracious. Also the supply side is constrained by real world growth pains - you cant print electricity(degentrading)
