This week, I came across a security incident that's perfect for reminding newcomers: The SparkKitty malware was exposed for sneaking into the App Store, Google Play, and third-party app stores. One of its targets? Scanning your phone's photo album for wallet seed phrase screenshots. A lot of people think on-chain security = contract audits, MEV, and cross-chain bridge vulnerabilities. But reality is often much simpler: If you screenshot your seed phrase and store it on your phone, you're basically handing your private key to every app with photo album access. In a bull market, you lose money because of FOMO. In a bear market, you lose coins because of screenshots. Don't store your seed phrase in your photo album, cloud drives, chat logs, or email drafts.
