Regarding the dev launch of tst's asteroid, some sharp-eyed folks dug up an old tweet from @cz_binance (where he mentioned deleting the dev's private key at the time). This is a clever move—it essentially puts CZ in a tough spot, forcing him to respond. If he doesn’t, rumors will spread that Binance officially partnered with tst to issue the token. As long as there’s an expectation of a response, retail investors will anticipate a price increase.
Currently, the price is around 8-9m, and most people’s cost is between 6-10m. At this level, it’s not advisable for CZ to respond. Why?
1. The price is relatively high right now. If CZ responds, it’s highly likely the price will spike quickly, followed by profit-taking and a sharp drop. This would trap most retail investors with costs between 6-10m. Then, opportunists would stir up trouble, and retail investors would collectively blame CZ.
2. If 10m isn’t the peak, then later on, there’s a high chance alpha contracts will be introduced. Is asteroid likely to launch on alpha? This token was launched on Butterfly, and Marscoin just went live on alpha. If another Butterfly token follows, it would clearly mean abandoning FOUR. But in reality, there’s no way FOUR would be abandoned.
3. If asteroid is a collaboration between tst and Binance’s official team, that’s even less likely. Why? Only non-official tokens would launch on Butterfly. If it were official, it would only launch on FOUR.
So, it’s recommended that CZ either doesn’t respond—anyone with a clear mind can analyze and see it’s unrelated to Binance’s official team—or waits for the price to naturally correct to a lower level before responding. If the price rises afterward, it’s a win. If the price drops, it’s already at a relatively low level, and the response wouldn’t be blamed for the decline.
Why has BSC become what it is today after being around for so long?
1. Greedy players uprooted everything, leaving nothing behind.
2. Scheming opportunists leveraged CZ, Binance’s official team, and influencers to pump and dump, crashing the price, and then guided retail investors to blame the official team, CZ, and influencers. They kept pushing this narrative, forcing the official team to issue statements distancing themselves, which led to a prolonged period of inactivity on BSC.
I hope BSC can become healthier in the future and continue to be a chain where retail investors can make money, rather than a chain dominated by centralized schemes.
