I see a lot of people still don’t know that the US stock market has several trading sessions: pre-market, regular trading, after-hours, and overnight. It’s basically 24 hours now, but regular trading has the best liquidity. For ordinary retail investors, it doesn’t make much of a difference—only big players are affected, with more slippage. Yesterday, there was a buying opportunity right when the news about Leopold cutting losses and liquidating came out, before the market officially opened. At that time, pre-market was already slowly going up (Leopold seeking new funding), and the stock only surged quickly after the news broke.
