Lots of news today saying Tesla is considering spinning off or selling its China business. Many people are pointing out that Tesla's biggest factory is in China, and the supply chain and market are all in China. If Tesla sells its China business, would Elon Musk really let it go? Such a huge piece of the pie. Actually, looking at it from the perspective of Tesla potentially merging with SpaceX, it’s not entirely impossible. SpaceX handles U.S. Department of Defense projects. Tesla is Musk’s private company business. If the two companies want to merge, it’s impossible for the U.S. Department of Defense projects to involve a large chunk of Chinese business. If Chinese business is intertwined, there’s a 100% chance of data security issues, and the U.S. Department of Defense would never allow that to happen. So, I think the likelihood of Tesla selling its China business is very low. Plus, Tesla made it to Doubao today. It’s more likely they’ll go for a joint venture like Volkswagen or spin it off, turning it into a subsidiary. After all, autonomous driving can’t enter China anyway, so they might as well cut costs and recover some funds.
