BlockBeats News, July 31: Decentralized AI data network Perceptron announced the completion of a $6.5 million strategic funding round. Participants include several Web3 investment firms, trading companies, ecosystem partners, and infrastructure enterprises, such as Sigma Capital, Selini Capital, QCP Capital, P2 Ventures, CoinDCX Ventures, Momentum6, DeFi Capital, Walrus Foundation, Aethir, Colosseum, GuruDev Capital, Tempo Finance, NewTribe Capital, Digital Consensus Fund, and CodeCraft Capital.
This round of funding will be used to launch Perceptron’s data task platform, expand contributor tools and reward infrastructure, and drive the network toward its goal of 5 million nodes. Perceptron aims to make real-world data acquisition fast and convenient enough that AI companies no longer need to rely on centralized data scraping infrastructure. The network integrates global data collection into a unified network composed of idle bandwidth, unique datasets, and domain-specific expertise.
Through this unified model, individual contributors and AI companies can generate complete and verified datasets, reducing the time from data request to dataset delivery to just a few days. Perceptron operates between two extremes: on one end, limited centralized data scraping tools, and on the other, closed data collaborations that most AI startups find difficult to access. Perceptron provides AI companies and ordinary contributors with ready-to-use data.
With Perceptron, contributors own their data and earnings, which they can monetize or withdraw at any time without relying on third parties. Perceptron focuses on continuous contributions and iterative improvements rather than one-time data scraping.
In the near term, Perceptron will prioritize launching its data task platform, with more announcements expected next quarter. In the long term, Perceptron is progressing toward a fully integrated network with 5 million nodes, consolidating everything AI companies need onto a single platform to achieve seamless alignment between demand and supply.
