Friends participating in the USD1 holding reward campaign by Binance and @worldlibertyfi might have noticed that since the event launched in January, it almost always gets extended right before the deadline. Starting from the initial January campaign, it has been extended through February, May, July… The reward period keeps rolling forward like a snowball. The new round kicked off on July 10, with the current deadline set for August 7. With just over a week left, will it get extended again this time? And what’s special about August 7? That day marks the “make-or-break” deadline for the Clarity Act, as it’s the last working day before the Senate’s summer recess. In other words, if the Clarity Act doesn’t pass by August 7, it might have to wait until mid-September or later. By then, with the midterm election agenda in play, the chances of the Clarity Act becoming law this year would be slim to none. WLFI, as a DeFi project linked to the Trump family, is highly sensitive to changes in U.S. crypto regulatory policies. Although Trump recently agreed to ethics clauses under pressure from the Democrats, that doesn’t mean WLFI or USD1 won’t leverage the timing of the Act’s passage to create buzz and attention for the project. If the deadline ends up sticking to August 7 and doesn’t get extended, that would be pretty interesting—it might suggest the project team isn’t optimistic about the Clarity Act passing in August. Because if the Act does pass smoothly, the battle for stablecoin market share will enter a new round of intense competition. At that point, marketing campaigns to attract new users would only get fiercer. So, whether the Act passes or not, keep an eye on how USD1’s holding reward campaign responds next
