Citrini comments on LeopoldAi Fund's request for additional funding: LPs are likely to buy the dip
Regarding the Situational Awareness Fund's urgent request for additional funding from investors due to the AI stock crash, Citrini Research analysts offered a different perspective: these investors may not necessarily turn bearish on AI because of this.
Citrini believes that the LPs of this fund didn't invest simply because they were optimistic about AI, but because they believe Leopold Aschenbrenner himself is one of the few people who could bring about the 'god of machines.'
Investors with this level of conviction are unlikely to turn bearish due to short-term fluctuations like SK Hynix's six-week nosedive. Citrini also mentioned that despite the recent major pullback, the fund's reported returns since its establishment in 2024 are still around 22x, meaning it's still massively profitable even after the correction.
Citrini's conclusion: these 'AI super believers' are more likely to buy the dip rather than pull out — which means not only is Leopold unlikely to face trouble, but he might actually signal the bottom of this AI stock downturn.
