[Institution: The Federal Reserve remains on hold, focusing on 'waiting for data' before year-end]
According to Gelonghui, Steve Colarno, Chief Investment Officer at Integrated Partners in Waltham, Massachusetts, stated that the Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates unchanged aligns with market expectations. The biggest change, however, is that compared to the previous meeting, there has been a further increase in dissenting votes supporting rate hikes, with more voting members leaning toward raising rates. He believes that Walsh's remarks during the press conference will be key to determining the future policy direction. However, it is important to note that Walsh is a typical supply-side economist. If current inflation is primarily driven by rising energy prices, then raising interest rates can only suppress demand and will not increase oil supply. Therefore, until core inflation data provides a clearer direction, the Federal Reserve's baseline scenario will remain to observe and wait for more data.
