[Post-Decision Focus on PCE: FOMC May Already Have Inflation Insights] BlockBeats News, July 30 – Federal Reserve Chair Waller stated that to achieve the 2% inflation target, the range of inflation data he references is broader than just the PCE data. PCE data is one of our reference indicators, and we will continue to adhere to it. It is worth noting that the Fed's preferred inflation indicator—the June Core PCE data—will be released at 20:30 Beijing time on Thursday. Committee members typically do not 'wait for public data to know roughly what inflation is,' but instead already have estimates formed by staff based on existing information. The FOMC itself relies on these internal analyses for discussions. Currently, the market expects Core PCE to rise 3.30% year-over-year, lower than the previous value of 3.40%. If the data declines and falls below expectations, it will reduce the urgency for the Fed to raise rates to control inflation. If the data exceeds expectations, it will strengthen the outlook for further rate hikes. (Jin10)
