[JPMorgan: Korea's Leveraged ETF Liquidation Nearing Its End]
BlockBeats News, July 29 — JPMorgan stated in a research report this morning that the intense deleveraging process in the Korean market since mid-June indicates that the liquidation of leveraged ETFs is largely complete, with hedge funds having completed approximately 90% of their operations. Relevant ratios have also returned to more acceptable levels.
JPMorgan strategists, including Mixo Das, wrote in the report that overall, the current positioning in the Korean stock market is quite attractive, with valuations being relatively low and earnings growth momentum looking strong. "With the market correction, the scale of such funds has now dropped to $17 billion," the report noted. The previously rapid inflow of funds into leveraged ETFs has noticeably slowed in recent days.
However, the recent sharp decline in stock prices could still trigger further deleveraging in the coming days. Additionally, considering the risk of interest rate hikes at the Federal Reserve's Federal Open Market Committee meeting and the high expectations for the upcoming earnings reports of mega-cap tech companies, many investors remain cautious.
