[South Korea Holds Emergency Meeting to Address Stock Market Plunge, Leverage ETF Controversy Continues to Escalate] According to Jin10 reports, South Korean authorities will hold an emergency meeting on Wednesday evening to discuss the recent stock market volatility and measures to stabilize the market. The meeting will begin at 6:00 PM local time (5:00 PM Beijing time) and will be chaired by Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol, with all key financial regulatory officials in attendance. On the same day, the South Korean National Assembly held a hearing regarding the recent stock market plunge. Several lawmakers attributed part of the market downturn to the introduction of single-stock leverage ETFs in May of this year. During the hearing, Koo Yun-cheol apologized for the situation, acknowledging that regulatory authorities should have conducted a more thorough evaluation before the product's launch. However, he maintained that leverage ETFs are just one of several factors contributing to the recent market turbulence. He stated: 'We have already implemented a series of response measures, but if necessary, we will take further actions to help the market return to normal.'
