[Database Company OceanBase Backed by Jack Ma Plans to Raise 2 to 3 Billion Yuan, Expanding AI Database Development] According to Bloomberg, the database company OceanBase, backed by Jack Ma, is in talks with investors for a Series A funding round, aiming to raise approximately 2 to 3 billion yuan (about $295 million to $443 million) to support its independent operations and accelerate the development of its AI database business. OceanBase was initially developed in 2010 to meet Ant Group's internal database needs and once supported Ant Group in achieving a transaction processing capacity of 500,000 transactions per second during major sales events like 'Double 11.' Sources familiar with the matter stated that OceanBase is currently enhancing its AI analytics capabilities. In addition to processing structured data, it is also improving its ability to handle semi-structured and unstructured data, such as videos, aiming to become a critical infrastructure connecting enterprise data with AI models and AI Agents.
