Last weekend, the CME launched 24/7 gold futures, with roughly $60m traded. Hyperliquid hit $13.3m over the same period, about 22% of CME’s weekend volume. While one might think a +20% share of the CME is a loss for Hyperliquid, for a 3-year-old protocol, this is quite impressive. To put things into perspective, the CME processes +80% of the cumulative gold futures open interest, followed by the Shanghai Futures Exchange controlling roughly 20%. This puts Hyperliquid's dominance on par with the Shanghai Futures Exchange. This is unprecedented, and I'd expect more exchanges to follow in the footsteps of the CME.(Ξliézer Ndinga)
