I wish I held as sanguine a view about what Bitcoin can be as Jeff. Everyone treads their own path, and mine has taken me in a direction that is much less optimistic about its ability to change the world. This does not dissuade my interest in it, but it undoubtedly has led to some aura loss for me with whatever passes for a community in this space as I no longer preach The Good Word. I do think BTC has a unique role to play for individuals who wish to transact sovereignly across borders, who find its decentralized nature attractive, and who are drawn to its defense against dilution in its native units. These are unique traits that I anticipate will grow in importance (and drive its value) as the world drifts away from the free movement of capital to something more draconian and restrictive. But where many of my compadres see its scarcity as an ideal monetary design, I see that as a primary obstacle to it becoming a widely used medium of exchange. I see its primary strength as optionality and dilution defense more than anything approaching daily currency. I see Bitcoin's existence alongside weaker monies (and more effective MoEs) as being more harmonious to its purpose than it being the only money. And I see a looonnngg history of civilization that has thus far been unable to break away from its chartalist gravity where money is dominated by states' preferences. I'm glad Jeff is back on Twitter. We met in person briefly at BTC Conf 2022 and he was very friendly. I look forward to engaging with more of his views down the road. 🫡(𝐓𝐗𝐌𝐂)
