PayPal Q2 Earnings Beat Expectations, No Response on Potential Acquisition Deal
According to Bloomberg, PayPal reported its Q2 earnings with an adjusted EPS of $1.38, surpassing analysts' expectations of $1.27. Total payment volume reached $486.4 billion, also exceeding market estimates. The company has raised its 2026 adjusted EPS guidance to $5.38, higher than last year's level.
Previously, private equity firm Advent and payment competitor Stripe had reportedly made an acquisition offer of around $60 per share. In its latest statement, PayPal did not respond to the offer. New CEO Enrique Lores, who took office in March this year, has restructured business lines and plans to cut about 20% of the workforce over the next two to three years.
