Foresight News reports that Galaxy has acquired approximately 500 acres of land in McGregor, McLennan County, Texas, under a development agreement with the city of McGregor. The land will be used to construct and operate an artificial intelligence and high-performance computing data center campus within the McGregor Industrial Park. Galaxy is advancing the construction of the power infrastructure required for the campus and has reached a preliminary agreement with a power company to support the interconnection facilities needed for the project. Phase one development is expected to have an installed capacity of 74 megawatts. Galaxy plans to coordinate with the power company to support its development project exceeding the 75-megawatt large load threshold set by ERCOT. The company currently anticipates that phase one of the campus will begin supplying power in 2028, with operations gradually expanding thereafter, depending on the completion of various development milestones. Galaxy believes that with the subsequent construction and improvement of transmission infrastructure by the power company, the McGregor campus is expected to develop into a campus with an installed capacity of several hundred megawatts by 2030.
