[Meta and BlackRock Collaborate to Invest Approximately $14 Billion in Developing a Data Center Campus] According to Deep Tide TechFlow, on July 28, Meta announced a new strategic project in collaboration with BlackRock to develop the El Paso Data Center. The El Paso Data Center represents an investment of over $10 billion by Meta. Funds managed by BlackRock will hold 80% of the project's equity, while Meta will retain the remaining 20%. All parties have committed to proportionally share the approximately $14 billion construction and development costs for the campus, including long-life power, cooling, and connectivity infrastructure. Upon financial closing, Meta will contribute approximately $2.3 billion worth of risk land and assets under construction, while BlackRock will provide approximately $4.9 billion in cash contributions. Meta will receive a one-time distribution of approximately $1 billion to allocate ownership based on the 80/20 equity split. Part of BlackRock's investment will be funded through $12.5 billion in debt financing.
