BlockBeats News, July 28, Meta Platforms (META.O) announced a new strategic project in collaboration with BlackRock to develop a data center in El Paso. BlackRock and Meta will jointly invest approximately $14 billion in development costs. The transaction is expected to be completed in the coming days, with the related capacity anticipated to go online in 2028. Meta will contribute $2.3 billion in assets, while BlackRock will provide $4.9 billion in cash upon the completion of the transaction. Meta will offer management services and become the first exclusive user of the El Paso campus. The El Paso data center will feature 1 gigawatt of computing capacity.
