[SparkKitty Malware Steals Seed Phrases by Scanning Photos via Mobile Apps] According to The Block, security company Check Point has disclosed that the cross-platform malware family SparkKitty has been embedded into applications on the Apple App Store, Google Play, and third-party Android stores. It uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to scan images in users' photo albums to steal cryptocurrency wallet seed phrases. Attackers disguise SparkKitty as cryptocurrency services, chat tools, and entertainment apps, requesting access to photo albums to continuously scan existing and newly added photos. The identified seed phrases, passwords, and QR code information, along with device details, are then uploaded to a remote server.
