According to a report by MacRumors, three users have filed a lawsuit against Apple in the U.S. Federal Court in California. They claim to have collectively lost approximately $1.8 million in Bitcoin—$875,000, $840,000, and $120,000 respectively—after downloading a fake Sparrow Wallet app from the App Store between May and August 2025. The lawsuit accuses Apple of failing to adequately review and regulate apps on its platform and of not responding promptly to user reports. The legitimate Sparrow Wallet only supports Windows, macOS, and Linux, and has not released an iOS version. The plaintiffs are seeking compensation from Apple, including the stolen funds. The allegations are still pending court review.
