I’ve noticed that people who are really close to you usually don’t respect the advice you give.
It’s like, they’re too familiar with you. I’m their buddy, their bro, their classmate, their colleague. They think, ‘Oh, he’s just lucky, made a few million. If I got into crypto, I could do it too.’
Told them not to touch contracts, but they just had to. On June 28th, I told them Micron would drop and Apple would rise, advised them to clear out storage stocks, but they didn’t listen.
In the end, I haven’t seen a single one of these close friends make money—they’ve all lost everything, wiped out. Storage, optical modules, semiconductors—every single one of them has been cut in half or worse. And these people? They don’t appreciate it. Instead, they resent me, like, ‘Why is it that you’re making money while we’re losing?’ What kind of logic is that?
Do they think I’ve never made mistakes over the years? Anyone who gets into investing has to lose for at least three years to learn their lessons. Especially this group—they came in during the tech and AI bull market. Losing for three years might not even be enough; it could take five years before they break even. If making money were that easy, I’d have struck it rich back in 2021.
Now, no one’s playing stock god anymore. The profits they made in two months turned into losses in just a week. And now they’re begging me, asking which sectors, what price points, whether to hold or sell. Where were they before? I told them to get out, but they didn’t. Now they’ve lost big and come back to me—what, just to get yelled at? Do they feel better after I scold them?
People are just ridiculous.
