One of the main reasons South Korean users utilize overseas exchanges is to participate in futures and other derivatives trading, making this investigation primarily focused on derivatives platforms. Among them, the South Korean Financial Services Commission's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) previously identified 14 platforms as unregistered Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASP) and referred them to investigative authorities.
