Today, I’m sharing a hands-on guide on how to use Bitget’s rToken. Normally, one sum of money can only buy one asset. But recently, I tried out Bitget’s rToken and found its concept to be quite different. 1⃣ To put it simply, rToken can be understood as an asset on Bitget that corresponds to U.S. stock prices. For example, rTSLA corresponds to Tesla, and rNVDA corresponds to Nvidia. 2⃣ After buying it, not only can you hold it and follow the price changes of the corresponding U.S. stock, but you can also use it as margin for other trades or even pledge it to borrow USDT. 3⃣ In other words, as the official description says: one rToken can do three jobs. This time, I tested the easiest-to-understand use case: I bought $250 worth of rTSLA, and instead of selling it, I directly used it as margin to open a short $BTC contract. After opening the position, I checked: - rTSLA was still there, so I didn’t miss out on Tesla’s market movements. - The BTC position was successfully opened as well. With the same sum of money, I was able to cover two different trading opportunities at the same time. The traditional approach would be to sell the U.S. stock asset first, convert it to USDT, and then use the USDT to open a contract. This back-and-forth process is not only cumbersome but also means you’d have to give up your original holdings. What’s interesting about rToken is that you don’t need to sell your original asset first—you can still make use of that portion of funds. Of course, this doesn’t mean you’re “magically creating extra money.” Since both positions fluctuate simultaneously, the risks are compounded. That’s why I only used 10x leverage this time and kept the position size small. Overall, my experience with rToken shows that it doesn’t just solve the problem of “how to buy U.S. stocks,” but also answers the question of whether the funds you’ve invested can continue to work for you after the purchase. Holding, using as margin, and pledging for loans—this is what “one rToken, three jobs” really means. In my next post, I’ll test pledging rToken to borrow USDT and see how useful the third job is.
