The end of an era. Once the largest derivatives exchange in the crypto world, BitMEX has just suddenly announced that it will cease operations and shut down on September 23. The company was co-founded by legendary trader Arthur Hayes and others. Back in February last year, BitMEX was reported to be seeking a sale, but no final deal was made. BitMEX is renowned for launching perpetual contracts in 2016.
