Privacy coins are doomed! Back in 2021, I was really optimistic about privacy coins. I bought a lot of XMR and ZEC, and even used my idle computer to mine XMR. Of course, I didn’t manage to mine any—it was mainly just for using Monero’s wallet since there wasn’t a reliable Monero wallet available at the time. In 2022, when three developers of Tornado Cash on Ethereum were arrested (technology is innocent), I realized that the reason governments allow cryptocurrencies is mainly because they’ve discovered that digital currencies can still be tracked. That’s when I concluded that privacy coins have no future and sold all my Monero. Sure enough, later on, all the exchanges delisted Monero, ZEC, and other privacy coins. Even mainstream cold wallets stopped supporting Monero. Because mining nodes are becoming fewer and fewer, Monero recently experienced a 51% attack.
