[US-Iran Ceasefire Involves $300 Billion Fund, Gulf States Remain Cautious]
According to a report by Golden Finance on June 18, citing CNN, under the US-Iran ceasefire agreement, the United States and its allies are obligated to ensure the establishment of a $300 billion fund for Tehran. President Trump stated this week that Iran would need the funds because 'we bombed them.' U.S. Vice President Vance said last week that Iran 'might receive' financial support from the fund, adding that it would be financed by Gulf states. However, it remains unclear which Gulf states would participate, as no country has publicly committed to contributing so far. Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud said in an interview on Wednesday that he was 'unaware' of the specifics of the fund but noted that there is a 'severe lack of trust' between the two sides due to Iran's attacks on Gulf states during the war. He added that trust must be rebuilt before discussing any form of economic cooperation. 'It is still at a very early stage.'
