Everyone knows about El Salvador, but this is the real winner.
Bhutan, with a population of 800,000, has been mining Bitcoin for years using cheap hydropower. By the end of 2024, they accumulated 13,000 BTC, worth over $1 billion.
What's the difference?
El Salvador bought Bitcoin using national funds. There's a cost involved, and when the price fluctuates, the whole country feels the pressure. Plus, there are plenty of opposition parties criticizing them.
Bhutan mined Bitcoin using hydropower. The cost is almost zero—selling one BTC means pure profit, no need to worry about cutting losses.
That's why they haven’t stopped selling since 2026. On March 18 alone, they sold 973 BTC, worth over $72 million, with some transactions going through OTC firm QCP Capital.
As of today, they still have 4,453 BTC left, worth $330 million on paper.
And they haven’t sold it all yet.
Now *this* is low-key winning big. #Crypto #Bitcoin #BTC
