[U.S. Official: Partial Airport Closures Possible if Government Funding Shortage Persists] BlockBeats News, March 17 – A senior official from the Trump administration stated on Tuesday that if the government funding shortage continues, some smaller airports may be forced to close in the coming weeks due to a lack of security personnel. The partial government shutdown has already resulted in 50,000 Transportation Security Administration (TSA) airport security personnel working without pay over the past month, with 10% of them not reporting to work on Sunday. 'As time goes on, if this situation persists, we will indeed need to take very serious measures, such as potentially completely closing airports—especially smaller ones,' said Adam Stahl, Acting Deputy Administrator of the TSA, in an interview with Fox News.
