Al Jazeera's latest report today confirms what we discussed on Monday about Iran's leadership system after Khamenei's death: Iran's national political leaders handle non-strategic matters, which are basically administrative affairs. In reality, many of Pezhikiyan's statements are just statements. Military and national security powers are in the hands of the IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps), and the new commander-in-chief, Vahidi, is a hardliner. However, it doesn't mention that the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Larijani, also has significant influence over national security matters. Essentially, Iran's national security and military affairs are now being led by Vahidi and Larijani.
