[Illegal Bitcoin Mining Farm Seized in Spain, Suspected Electricity Fraud Exceeding €860,000] According to CriptoNoticias, the Catalonia police in Spain have seized an illegal Bitcoin mining farm in Sant Vicenç de Castellet, Barcelona province. The farm operated 88 ASIC mining machines by illegally connecting to a high-voltage power grid. Based on calculations by Spain's national electricity company Endesa, the stolen energy is valued at €860,643, making it one of the highest amounts in the industrial sector in recent years in the region. The police investigation began in October 2025, when abnormal electricity usage was detected at the industrial building. A search was conducted on February 26 of this year. An initial technical report indicated that the facility lacked electricity meters and protection systems, and was directly connected to the grid via a three-phase system, posing a risk of overload and potential fire hazards, which could jeopardize the power supply stability of nearby businesses. A 34-year-old suspect of Asian descent was investigated in the Manresa court on March 3. The legal proceedings are currently focused on charges of electricity theft.
