[Former Trump Crypto Advisor: U.S. Government Support for Bitcoin Should Go Beyond 'Liking' and Take Practical Action] Golden Finance reported that David Bailey, former cryptocurrency advisor to Trump, stated that the U.S. government could do more to promote Bitcoin adoption. Speaking at the Bitcoin Investor Week Conference held in New York, he said: 'Ultimately, simply "liking Bitcoin" is not enough.' (The video was published on YouTube on Tuesday.) Bailey, currently the CEO and Chairman of KindlyMD, pointed out: 'The Trump administration was a very important first step, but we still have a long way to go—not just talking about it, but advancing it through practical actions.' Bailey highlighted that the strategic Bitcoin reserve plan has stalled. During his presidential campaign, Trump repeatedly expressed support for Bitcoin and the broader crypto industry. Although he signed an executive order for a strategic Bitcoin reserve in March 2025, it is understood that the U.S. government has yet to begin accumulating Bitcoin beyond funds confiscated from illegal activities. Bailey stated: 'A year has passed, and here we are, with the strategic Bitcoin reserve signed into an executive order.'
