US officials have signalled that operations could last weeks when speaking to Al-Jazeera this morning.
Ynet is an online outlet of the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper the largest in the country - and one the Israeli government is known to leak to for controlling messaging.
If the Israeli government had goaded the US into a heavy handed response and wanted to keep them engaged, they’d leak stories about a proposed ceasefire that makes Trump look weak or skittish.
In turn the US would have to deny them, and it would look weak if Trump then suddenly pulled back afterwards.
The current US and Israeli admins are both known for consistently lying about policy positions to shape narratives that benefit them in the press.
So id take any claims with a huge grain of salt.
Especially because part of what decides when this ends is:
* Does Iran stop attacking US assets and allies (as we’ve got no choice but to respond if thy do)
* Does the Strait of Hormuz stay open (as we have basically no choice but to respond if it doesn’t)
