The IoTeX team stated that its multi chain bridge ioTube's Ethereum end was attacked on February 21, with attackers stealing 410 million CIOTX tokens and approximately $4.4 million in assets through a four step operation. Currently, over 86% of CIOTX have been locked or frozen, 12.8% (52.4 million coins) are working with Binance and others to freeze some funds, and only 0.4% (1.7 million coins) of CIOTX are still at risk after being exchanged on decentralized exchanges. In addition, the attacker exchanged tokens from the bridge reserve fund for approximately 2183 ETH, of which 1572 ETH has been transferred to the Bitcoin network through THORChain. The IoTeX team has taken urgent measures, including fixing vulnerabilities, freezing relevant addresses, and collaborating with exchanges to freeze funds. The ioTube bridge service will be restored after completing an independent security audit, and a compensation plan and security upgrade measures will be launched. A detailed compensation plan will be released and a community AMA will be held within the next 48 hours.
