On February 20th, Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino announced that the tokenized gold XAUT worth 94 tons of gold has been transferred on the chain in the past 6 months, with a total transaction fee of only 0.0016%. Compared to the logistics and security costs of millions of dollars required for central banks to transport physical gold under traditional systems, tokenized gold achieves near instant settlement and extremely low-cost transfer.
