The US is innovating at an unprecedented rate: There are 62 technology companies in the US reporting net annual profit above $1 billion, by far the most of any country. This is over 4 times more than in the world’s 2nd-largest economy, China, which has 15 such tech firms. In the US, there are 21 more global tech firms than in China, Japan, Taiwan, and the Eurozone combined. Among the world’s 10 largest companies, 8 are US technology firms.
