Octra Labs announces $20 million public token sale at a valuation of $200 million
Odaily Planet Daily News: Octra Labs, the association behind the privacy blockchain project Octra, announced that it will launch a public token sale on Sonar (an ICO platform founded by Echo and recently acquired by Coinbase) on December 18th. The proposed sale aims to raise $20 million, corresponding to a fully diluted token valuation (FDV) of $200 million, locking in 10% of the token supply. The token will adopt a fixed price subscription system, and all participants will receive tokens proportionally based on their investment amount. Unsold portions will be destroyed. Octra Labs stated that if subscription demand is strong, the sales allocation ratio may be increased. The tokens will be fully unlocked and distributed shortly after the sale ends, following the model of Ethereum's 2014 ICO. Previously, Octra raised $4 million through Echo and completed a $4 million pre Series funding round with participation from Big Brain Holdings, Finals Capital, Karatage, and Presto Labs. In terms of token allocation, early investors hold 18%, Octra Labs holds 15%, and the remaining 67% is allocated to the community, including early users, validators, ecosystem sponsors, Echo participants, and this public sale. The proportion of coins held by a single investor does not exceed 3%. The launch of this ICO coincides with the industry's renewed focus on privacy technology, including the rise of Zcash, the advancement of Ethereum's privacy roadmap, the $60 million fundraising from Aztec community sales, and Zama's completion of over $1 billion valuation financing. Octra was founded in 2021 and claims to have developed its own fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) system from scratch, which can perform computations in encrypted state and is suitable for scenarios such as private DeFi, dark pools, AI training and inference. Its network can serve as an independent L1 or as a privacy coprocessor for ecosystems such as Ethereum and Solana. As of now, the Octra network has processed over 100 million transactions, covering 1.5 million accounts, with a peak TPS of 17000, and has not experienced any downtime. The testnet will migrate to the mainnet in the near future and launch programmable privacy development tools with integration capabilities with Ethereum and Solana in Q1 2026. Octra Labs is located in Zug, Switzerland and has teams in Dubai and London. The core team consists of 17 people, with multiple developers from VK (Vkontakte) and Telegram environments. The funds raised from the ICO will be deposited into the association's treasury and used for ecological construction after the mainnet goes live.
