[Trump Begins Final Round of Interviews for Federal Reserve Chair Candidates This Week, Claims 'I Already Have the Right Person in Mind'] BlockBeats News, December 10, according to Bloomberg, U.S. President Trump stated that he will begin the final round of interviews for the next Federal Reserve Chair candidates this week, considering several contenders. On Tuesday, Trump told the media aboard Air Force One, 'We will consider a few different candidates, but I am already very clear about who I want.' Kevin Hassett, Director of the White House National Economic Council, remains the top candidate to succeed Powell in leading the Federal Reserve, but his selection is not set in stone. Trump recently stated that he will soon choose the new Federal Reserve Chair but may wait until early 2026 to make the announcement public. Trump and U.S. Treasury Secretary Besent are scheduled to meet with former Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh on Wednesday, and the two are expected to conduct at least one interview next week.
