I concluded my campaign rallies in the Rwenzori and Tooro sub-regions today in Kyenjojo District and I thank the people for the massive turnout. The elders remember the years of insecurity from across the Congo. For 40 years, the NRM has kept peace, and this peace must be protected. We shall also work on the Fort Portal–Kijura road to further unlock this region. On wealth creation, I reminded the people that Uganda was already rich, long before paved roads or electricity. When Henry Morton Stanley passed through Bunyoro in 1887, he found a country full of cultivation and abundance. This proves that true prosperity comes from household wealth creation, and every family must enter the money economy.(Yoweri K Museveni)
