Sorry @DeborahMeaden, I’m not trying to pick on you, but your posts seem ideologically left rather than critically thought through. Let me explain why crypto deregulation is a good thing and you should support it (if you care about people). Currency debasement has hammered the lower and middle class for decades. Inflation isn’t an accident, it’s the business model of government. Bitcoin is one of the few tools ordinary people have to escape that. While pounds can be printed endlessly to fund whatever stupid idea Westminster has, Bitcoin has a fixed supply. It can’t be inflated away. It’s digital gold with a liquid, global market that anyone can access, at least, in countries that don’t over regulate. In the U.K., our rules are draconian. People have literally been debanked just for buying Bitcoin. Meanwhile the U.S. has ETFs, institutional access and a maturing market, yet we’re still treating it like contraband. Do we really want to trap people in an inflationary system with no free-market alternative? Easy for the wealthy (like you) they already own assets that rise with inflation. Everyone else gets screwed. That’s why deregulation matters. It gives people a way out.(Peter McCormack 🏴‍☠️🇬🇧🇮🇪)
