So back to the question at the beginning, is Sentient an open-source AI or an open-source weighted AI? This question is quite difficult to answer. After investigation, it can be concluded that Sentient is somewhere between open source and open weight, but closer to open source. Strictly speaking, Sentient is not a model, but a platform. The core viewpoint of Sentient and Professor Pramod is that the reason why open source AI is not feasible is because the commercial benefits of AI itself are too great, and the upfront costs are too high, making it difficult for open source developers to receive compensation. Pramod has a core technology, which is fingerprinting. If you use a model built based on the Sentient protocol, the original creators will receive rewards for tracing fingerprints, in an attempt to alleviate the "free riding" problem of traditional open source in this way.
