[Strategy CEO: Will Only Consider Selling Bitcoin if NAV Falls Below 1 and Financing Channels Disappear]
Foresight News reports, citing Cointelegraph, that Strategy CEO Phong Le stated the company would only consider selling Bitcoin if its stock value falls below net asset value (NAV) and financing channels disappear. On the 'What Bitcoin Did' podcast, he explained that if the company's mNAV drops below 1 and financing options are exhausted, selling Bitcoin would be 'mathematically' reasonable, referring to it as a protection of 'Bitcoin earnings per share.' However, he clarified that this would be a last resort, not a policy adjustment.
Additionally, Le mentioned that Strategy faces an annual dividend payment issue of approximately $800 million. He noted that with the recent issuance of preferred shares gradually maturing, the annual obligation is nearing $750 million to $800 million. He plans to prioritize paying these dividends through equity raised at prices above mNAV. Last week, Strategy also launched a new 'BTC Credit' dashboard to reassure investors, especially amid market volatility following Bitcoin price declines and digital asset portfolio sell-offs. The company stated that even if Bitcoin prices remain stable over the coming decades, it has sufficient dividend coverage capacity.
