According to El Observador, Tether has officially informed Uruguay's Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) that it will cease operations locally and lay off 30 employees. Tether stated that the withdrawal is mainly due to Uruguay's high energy costs and lack of a competitive electricity pricing mechanism, making the project economically unfeasible under current conditions. Tether had originally planned a $500 million project in Uruguay, including three data centers and a 300MW wind and solar power park, but only invested over $100 million. The company had repeatedly requested adjustments to electricity pricing and transmission plans (such as relocating to a 150kV channel), but with limited progress, it ultimately decided to withdraw completely. https://www.(wublock123.com)/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=6&id=52543
