[Binance and Changpeng Zhao Accused of Assisting Terrorist Organizations in Transactions, Facing $1 Billion Lawsuit] Over 300 victims and family members of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel have filed a lawsuit against Binance and its founder Changpeng Zhao in federal court in North Dakota under the Anti-Terrorism Act. The lawsuit accuses Binance of knowingly assisting terrorist organizations in conducting cryptocurrency transactions. The complaint alleges that Binance facilitated over $1 billion in transactions for terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah, detailing multiple cases involving terror-linked digital wallets. This case comes less than two years after Binance pleaded guilty and paid a $4.3 billion fine, and in the first month following Changpeng Zhao's pardon by Trump. A federal judge in New York previously ruled that the plaintiffs had reasonable grounds to accuse Binance of aiding the attacks. Binance is currently facing four related lawsuits in the United States.
