[KuCoin Completes Registration in Australia and Adds Fiat Deposit Services]
Crypto exchange KuCoin has announced its registration with the Australian financial intelligence agency Austrac as a Digital Currency Exchange (DCE), obtaining the qualification to operate legally in the region. This registration allows KuCoin to be officially regulated in Australia, meeting the increasingly stringent scrutiny requirements for offshore crypto platforms in the country.
KuCoin has also partnered with Echuca Trading to provide regulated crypto futures products for Australian users and has added fiat deposit support, enabling users to deposit and trade cryptocurrencies using local currency. Previously, the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) stated that many digital assets, including stablecoins and tokenized products, may require licensing to operate legally.
In earlier news, KuCoin has accelerated its compliance process in Australia by establishing a Sydney office and appointing a local Managing Director.
