U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics: In September, the healthcare industry added 43,000 jobs, roughly in line with the average monthly increase of 42,000 jobs over the previous 12 months. This month, employment in ambulatory healthcare services (+23,000) and hospitals (+16,000) increased. Employment in food services and drinking places continued to trend upward, adding 37,000 jobs. Social assistance employment also continued to trend upward, adding 14,000 jobs.
